Basic Pistol
Get off to the right start in shooting a handgun
Increase your general handgun knowledge and start building solid fundamentals to become a competent shooter as quickly as possible. This is a great way to start or the obvious next step after completing our New Shooter Experience.
Safety, Terminology, Operation
In the classroom you will learn the four key rules of gun safety, the different types of handguns and how they operate, as well as details about ammunition and how to choose the right type for your gun and activity.
Virtual Range
Next we'll move to the Virtual Range, where you will use a laser-equipped training gun to learn the basics of grip, stance, aiming and trigger control. With no noise (so no hearing protection), communication is easy, and no recoil makes learning proper technique fast.
Live Fire Range
Then we move outside so you can take shots with one of our light-recoiling .22 pistols, and then moving into a variety of your choice of other firearms, or guidance in firing your own.
Cleaning & Maintenance
Finally we go back into the classroom for details about breakdown, basic cleaning, and lubrication of a typical modern handgun (or your personal gun).
• Available as a scheduled class or for private instruction
• Must be age 21 or older to participate
• age 13-20 can participate with a parent
• requires eye and ear protection
• a gun is not required – but you are welcome to bring your own
• 50 rounds of ammo if you bring your own gun
cost per person $125
3 person minimum for private classes
